41st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards - FINAL Soap Opera Predictions

Tomorrow morning, the nominations for the 41st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be announced.  Who will get in, and who will get snubbed in the Daytime Drama categories?  Here is what will happen, more than likely tomorrow.

FINAL PREDICTIONS

Drama Series:
Days of Our Lives (NBC)
General Hospital (ABC)
The Young and the Restless (CBS)
4th Slot: The Bold and the Beautiful (CBS)
ANALYSIS: DAYS is the defending champ, and is expected to dominate in the nominations, with a little help from GH, and Y&R.  The latter soap, I think will ride the coattails of the Delia storyline, both tomorrow morning, and on June 22, when the actual ceremony is held at the Beverly Hilton.

Lead Actor in a Drama Series:
Peter Bergman (Jack, Y&R)
Doug Davidson (Paul, Y&R)
Billy Miller (Ex-Billy, Y&R)
Jason Thompson (Patrick, GH)
5th Slot: Christian LeBlanc (Michael, Y&R)
Spoilers: Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH), Shawn Christian (Daniel, DAYS), James Scott (E.J., DAYS)
ANALYSIS: If Miller and Bergman are both snubbed tomorrow morning, there will be injustice to the voting system.

Lead Actress in a Drama Series:
Eileen Davidson (Ex-Kristen, DAYS)
Alison Sweeney (Sami, DAYS)
Heather Tom (Katie, B&B)
Maura West (Ava, GH)
5th Slot: Finola Hughes (Anna, GH)
Spoilers: Jessica Collins (Avery, Y&R), Jess Walton (Jill, Y&R), Laura Wright (Carly, GH), Arianne Zucker (Nicole, DAYS)
ANALYSIS: Heather Tom is still chasing history.  The youngest actor to get ten Daytime Emmy nominations.  The first to win a Lead, Supporting, and Younger Acting Emmy.  Can she tie Queen Slezak as the most-winningest Soap Diva of all-time on June 22?  However, Eileen Davidson is the favorite for playing multiple characters once again.  Beware of spoilers such as Maura West, Jessica Collins, and 27-year Y&R vet Jess Walton.

Supporting Actor in a Drama Series:
Bradford Anderson (Ex-Damian, GH)
Steve Burton (Dylan, Y&R)
Greg Rikaart (Kevin, Y&R)
Greg Vaughan (Eric, DAYS)
5th Slot: Eric Martsolf (Brady, DAYS)
Spoilers: Blake Berris (Nick, DAYS), Sean Blakemore (Shawn, GH), Darin Brooks (Wyatt, B&B), Scott Clifton (Liam, B&B), William DeVry (Julian, GH)
ANALYSIS: Perhaps the most competitive race (13 actors were pre-nominated here), and the hardest to troubleshoot, although the four that I picked, are front-runners.

Supporting Actress in a Drama Series:
Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea, Y&R)
Jane Elliot (Tracy, GH)
Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe, Y&R)
Cynthia Watros (Ex-Kelly, Y&R)
5 Slot: Amelia Heinle (Victoria, Y&R)
Spoilers: Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis, Y&R), Kimberly McCullough (Ex-Robin, GH), Kelly Sullivan (Ex-Connie, GH)
ANALYSIS: When the Pre-Nominations were announced on March 3rd, we all knew going into this that this category would come down to either GH or Y&R, as all ten slots are occupied by these two soaps.  The Delia storyline on Y&R will play a major factor in this category.  Two years ago, GH had four of the five Supporting Actor nominees.  This year, I think that if there are five nominees, four of them will be residents of Genoa City, Wisconsin, with the lone GH nominee being 36-year soap vet Jane Elliot.

Younger Actor in a Drama Series:
Corbin Bleu (Ex-Jeffrey, OLTL)
Bryan Craig (Morgan, GH)
Chandler Massey (Ex-Will, DAYS)
Freddie Smith (Sonny, DAYS)
5th Slot: Eric Nelsen (Ex-AJ, AMC)
Spoilers: Max Ehrich (Fenmore, Y&R), Casey Moss (JJ, DAYS), Daniel Polo (Ex-Jamie, Y&R)

Younger Actress in a Drama Series:
Kristen Alderson (Kiki, GH)
Christel Khalil (Lily, Y&R)
Kim Matula (Hope, B&B)
Kelley Missal (Ex-Danielle, OLTL)
5th Slot: Hunter King (Summer, Y&R)
Spoilers: Camilla Banus (Gabi, DAYS), Kate Mansi (Abigail, DAYS)

Writing in a Drama Series:
The Bold and the Beautiful (CBS)
Days of Our Lives (NBC)
The Young and the Restless (CBS)
4th Slot: General Hospital (ABC)

Spoilers: All My Children (The Online Network), One Life to Live (The Online Network)

Directing in a Drama Series:
The Bold and the Beautiful (CBS)
Days of Our Lives (NBC)
General Hospital (ABC)
4th Slot: The Young and the Restless (CBS)

Spoilers: All My Children (The Online Network), One Life to Live (The Online Network)

The nominations will be announced during the 8:30AM half-hour of ABC's "Good Morning America" tomorrow.  Other categories expected to be announced include those for Talk Show, Game Show, Morning News Program, and Talk Show Host.  The 41st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be held on Sunday June 22nd at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.  The Creative Arts portion of the Daytime Emmys will be held of Friday June 20th from the Bonaventure Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.
